Dusting off the blog

Sweet Boy Teegan
I cannot believe that a whole year has passed since we brought home our sweet boy.  On the other hand, he transitioned into our family with such ease that it seems like he has always been here. He's three now and that is hard to believe, also.  He can hold his own in a conversation and can argue with his sisters like a champ.  We now have toy cars lined up in tiny traffic jams all over the house and have to kiss his stuffed frog goodnight before he will go to sleep.  He begins his night in his fabulous fire truck toddler bed but always migrates back to our bed in the wee hours of the morning.  My sleep is disturbed but when he strokes my cheek and says, "I love you, Mommy," I know that one day I won't believe how quickly this passed too.

He gave us quite a scare a couple of weeks ago when he started vomiting blood.  I was so afraid I would loose my precious boy.  After a night in our local hospital and a transfusion, he was transferred by ambulance to Wolfsons Children's Hospital in Jacksonville, which gets an A+ from me for everything. Even though he loves miniature emergency vehicles, he wasn't too keen on riding in the ambulance.  When the paramedics asked him if he wanted to ride in an ambulance, he replied, "No, I want to ride in a fire truck!"  He slept most of the ride but became frightened in Jacksonville when he saw the traffic behind us. "The cars are too close!" he exclaimed.  I have to admit that I agreed.  He spent a week at Wolfsons, getting scoped and poked and tested while watching more TV than he has ever seen.  He has ulcers.  We don't know why our baby has ulcers but we're glad he's healing now.

And now that I have the blog all dusted off, follow me as I go to China to adopt another baby.  Tara will be joining me while Daddy stays at home to take care of our three little ones.  We leave October 6!!!  AND I HAVEN'T PACKED YET!!!!  Yes, panic is starting to set in.  It is so much more complicated to pack when you have 3 children and are trying to save all your leave time from work for bonding with the new one.  And by the way, meet Tate.
